Now you don’t have to travel all the way to Tangke, Talisay to experience the freshest seafood by Manang Julings Kilawan!
Originally located in Tangke, Talisay, Manang Julings Kilawan is finally here in Cebu City for everyone to try! If you haven’t heard of Manang Julings (especially if you’re from the north like me), let me share a bit of background of this favorite dining destination in Talisay.
They started as a carenderia back in the 1970’s and is founded by Juling Abarquez but is now mainly run by her children Sarah A. Suizo and Alicia A. Daan. They are known for their Sugba (Grilled), Tula or Tuwa (Tinola/Soup) and Kilaw (Kilawin / Ceviche) which is also known as “SUTUKIL”. They are actually one of the first Sutukil carenderia in Cebu even before similar dining places in Lapu Lapu opened.
What makes people come back to their restaurant over the years is how consistent they are in serving the freshest seafood dishes. They get their seafood supply straight from the fishermen’s early morning catch which docks just beside their spot in Tangke, Talisay. And due to popular demand, they finally opened a branch here in Cebu City!
I was lucky enough to try their wide variety of Filipino dishes when they opened in the city and here are some of the dishes that I was able to try.
Seafood dishes like Tinolang Bug-atan (white clams), Steamed Bongkawil, Kinilaw na Lato, Kinilaw na Guso and Nilarang Tasik are not only delicious but is served fresh daily!

Other than seafood dishes, they also serve other Filipino dishes like Bagnet, Pork Humba, Chicaron Bulaklak, Sisig, Pinakbet, Kalderetang Kanding, Binagoongan Baboy and many more!! Whew I’m now drooling by just typing this! haha

I am not really a fan of Kinilaw unless it is served fresh and this one was deliciously good! I enjoyed eating it.
