The 411 on Make Your Own Havaianas 2017 in Cebu!

MYOH 2017 - Commemorative Pair

It’s that time of the year again where all Havaianaticos gather together to make unique pairs at the annual Make Your Own Havaianas Event!

MYOH 2017 - Slim

Every year, Make Your Own Havaianas (MYOH, for short) lets Havaianaticos step into a different place with the fun themes that inspire the total flip-flop customization experience and for this year, Havaianas sets foot into a different time and, hands down, it’s one of the best decades ever. As a 90’s kid, I went gaga over this year’s 90’s theme!

So How Does MYOH Work?

As a Havaianatico myself, obviously this is something I look forward every year ever since they had their first MYOH event here in Cebu way back 2005 and I can say I am pretty much experienced on how it works so if this is your first time then let me guide you on what you should expect.

The whole idea of this event is that you will get the opportunity to express your personal style by customizing your own flip-flops with an assortment of mix-and-match straps and soles, as well as special pins to adorn; making your pair of Havaianas unique!

Step 1 : Choose Your Style

There are two ways to do this, either you choose a Top (regular) pair or the Slim pair.

Step 2 : Choose Your Sole and Strap

This step is easy (or rather hard) because this is the step that will make your pair stand out from the rest by choosing your desire sole color and strap! There should be a wheel-like thingy that will help you imagine what goes well with your sole to each strap color and vice versa.

WHAT’S THE *COMMEMORATIVE PAIR THIS YEAR?
Every year, there’s a special commemorative pair that’s inspired by the theme of MYOH. It’s a one-of-a-kind, limited-edition pair that’s a must-have for every Havaianatico! This year’s commemorative pair is a total must-have. It comes in a classic black sole with pixels, inspired by the 8-bit video games that defined the decade. Cue in the nostalgia.

Hey, the commemorative pair comes in kids’ sizes, too! *Available only for Top (regular) pairs.

Step 3 : Choose Your Pin

After deciding a sole and strap, this step will make your pair EXTRA EXTRA special because most of these pins are limited edition and are only available during MYOH.

The pins are also ’90s-themed and they are totally rad. The choices include throwback icons of a TV, cassette tape, boom box, and a video game icon. There’s a pin that simply says “I ❤ 90s” for those who lived through this rad time. Back in the day, bedrooms were a whole lot cooler if they were glow-in-the-dark. So, Havaianas has come up with glow-in-the-dark pins that come in five super fun designs: a lightning bolt, smiley, star, and lips.

Also, for the first time ever, Havaianas makes use of 3D printing technology that can print pins before your eyes.

AND VIOLA!

You should have a good looking one-of-a-kind Havaianas pair in hand at this point. Go straight to the cashier and bring it home with you!
