Cebu’s Labor day WKND is coming up and I thought I would come up with a list of my top 10 music festival essentials that you may consider bringing to the upcoming WKND Party!

Labor Day weekend is coming up and that only means one thing: Labor Day Parties! This may not be a huge deal for other people but for some, this is a weekend worth celebrating for! I’ve known several people that look forward to this day and even work their butt off all year just to be able to afford to fly to Boracay for the famous “Laboracay” event! It is a public holiday anyways and a perfect time to celebrate especially if you are a hard working person that deserves a great time!

Whether you’re that guy who never misses any music festival event there is or that girl who is just about to spend her first time at a music festival this summer, I’m sure all you wanted is to make it through the weekend and enjoy the festival experience as the same time. With that being said, I’ve come up with my list of top essentials you absolutely can’t go without for you to survive through the weekend!

1. Official WKND Shirt

Any shirt will do, really, but you might want to consider wearing something that you don’t mind getting all dirty and all. Remember this is a sports+lifestyle+music kind of festival happening at the beach! There are water activities for sure and you will eventually get wet.

2. Bandana

Not just for fashion and looking cool but this really is something you might want to bring. Why? Well you can use this in different ways: (1) use it as a handkerchief for personal hygiene purposes such as wiping one’s hands or face, or blowing one’s nose, (2) use it as a headband – music festivals are mostly held in an open field (or in a beach in this case) under the sun and it will get hot and humid. This is where the bandana comes in. Wrap it around your head and use it as a headband to keep your hair away from your face! Oh dba fresh! haha

3. Sunnies

Most of these festivals starts as early as 10am where the sun is directly above you. Wearing sunnies definitely keeps your eyes protected from the sun’s uv rays. Sunscreens and hats are recommended too but again you might end up losing it. Make sure to bring sunnies and hats that are cheap and are okay of losing.

4. Small Pouch

You don’t want to be bringing your big ass wallet, do you? Music festivals tend to be crowded. Bring a small pouch to store your money if you don’t want to end up losing your wallet with all your personal IDs and ATMs inside.

5. Powerbank

Definitely something I recommend. Your phone will eventually die, trust me! You may want to bring a portable phone charger with you to stay connected with your friends just in case you’ll be separated. (Also, I recommend setting up a meeting up place with your friends if this ever happens. Most of the cellular network is unreliable during these times)

6. Protein Bars

Like I said, music festivals tend to be crowded and crowded means long queues at the food shops. Protein bars comes in handy during times like this.

7. Water Bottle

You are expected to dance and sweat for sure at some point during the festival and to survive, we definitely need to re-hydrate ourselves. Water is very essential!

8. Foldable Fan

This! You will never know when you’ll need one! Imagine a music festival in a tropical country like the Philippines. Mabuti nang prepared beshie! 😀

9. Wet Tissue / Oil Control Sheet / Hand Sanitizer 

Who needs these to a festival? You do! Unless your fine with dirt all over your body and having oily looking face at the end of the day. I won’t judge you:))

10. Mobile

Last but definitely not the least, your mobile phone. Pics or it didn’t happen, right? haha #Millennial

WKND is a Sports, Lifestyle and Music Festival happening on Labor Day weekend (April 29-May 1) here in Cebu at Mactan Newtown Beach!

Expect lifestyle bazaar, water activities (like jetski racing, paddle board race, beach soccer and beach volleyball) and great music featuring FDJ top 100 #27 in the World and one of Manila’s Finest – Kattyq Moscow and Ashley Rivera! Along side with Cebu’s local bands and DJs.
